The tree looked elsewhere
It was searching for sun light
Its tall trunk slowly bent
Reaching out to the brightness
The neighbour complained
He did not understand the tree
It just wanted to see light
It just wanted to breathe fresh
It just wanted to live well
The man did not hear the tree
He was deaf and dumb
With years of selfishness
Building houses after houses
To protect him in old age
The tree cursed his power
When the men with axes
Brought it down swiftly
It fell like an innocent child
Screaming out of desperation
Unheard by brutal noise.
The Gods welcomed its soul
No more births, they said.
'You have evolved well
More than men educated
More ignorant than others'.
