உறவுகள்

பந்தங்கள்  பாசங்கள்

பல்லவிகள் பரிதாபங்கள்

அடக்கும் ஆசையில்

அன்பைப் பொழியும்

அங்கலாய்ப்புகள்

Feminism in schools

The woman was tired

She had joined here

To access free education

For her two children

Little drops her earnings

Helped her family

Sail through inflation.

Forty children screamed

Class pupil leader cried

Teacher's voice was hoarse

Desperately she tried

To bring order in confusion.

Schools are extension

Extended homes of despair

Every one knew it was fine

Why bother without reason?

These women are educated

These women are empowered

We have progressed well

Our women are liberated.

Red hot

Red Chillies

Red hot burning the mouth

Red eyes filled with water

Red tongue bleeding hot

Red taste hurting heart

The great palms

The great palms - Painting- oil on canvas- Mr. S. Chellaiah

The palms were rejected by houses

They took shelter in open grounds

They were not tamed as the neem

They were charming like hibiscus

They were tough, harsh, cold

Unforgiving, frustrated ugly

The dignified height brought

Pride to their eyes and tone

The rejection from society

Gave them milk of kindness

Frustration brewed into warmth

Loneliness mellowed into love

Broke out into services

Continued their standing

Looking down on the shallow

Life around them with smiles

The breeze petted and pampered

The sun shared jokes lightly

The Gods came down to visit

They lived and live midst the best.

The unestablished

The smiling clouds- painting-oil on canvas- Mr.S.Chellaiah

The clouds do have rituals

Decide to break them

At times of fancy

Form meanings of rebellion

Hit, smash, destroy

The humans cry, curse

The clouds block channels

They don't listen to nonsense

Skyscrapers are cards

To be scrapped off

Boats are paper boats

Ships are blank sheets

Bridges are tissue papers

Ancients created a ritual

For these clouds

Froze their ideas into a God

Worshiped them

Religions slowly broke out

They rebelled against nature

Human Gods replaced

Creating, protecting, destroying

New festivals came up

New stories written

New rituals decided

How to pray

When to sprinkle

Ups and downs of tone

Repetitions of power

Leadership rituals

Bringing concentration, memory

Human Gods gave more power

To humans answering prayers

Evolution of human life

Framed by best practices

Nature based best practices

Replaced by human best practices

Efforts of mankind

To evolve more

To achieve more

Efforts of taming the animal

Into live Gods of power

The only issue is

Gods have high 'hatred quotient'

Detachment

The river-painting- oil on canvas- Mr.S.Chellaiah

The trees stood away from the water

The water knew its limits

The air stood still waiting

Each planet in its orbit

Everyone living their life

Consciously moving away

The light looked at everyone

Things were fine, in order

Hierarchy is a natural growth

Where the sun is bright

Bacteria lives more in touch

Keep away, keep away

Cultures created by the sun

Circles formed moved away

Centres of lives created

Gradually lost touch

Then became isolated

Now each centre thinks

The other is cunning, funny,

So on and so on.

Lives lost in classification

Unlearning systems involves

The same number of years

It took to build themselves

The genesis must have been slow

The end too will be slow

Religions come and go

Divisions come and go

Coming and going

Makes life interesting

The life of the intellectual species

Designed by ambition

Planned by the greed for perfection

Only to realise

That we need to detach from

Perceived perfections of arrogance

Old wise trees- painting-oil on canvas - Mr.S. Chellaiah

Some get it all wrong

They plan, scheme and win

Life misguides them

The winner calls himself a winner

He is yet to know the implications

Life awaits with brutal laws

Many have given them names

Dharmas, values are survival rules

To live long, to mellow with age

To leave this birth with grace

To meet the other end of the stream

Laws have to be understood

Do not hurt the innocent

Do not hurt the weak

Do not exploit the ignorant

Laws of life, laws of  species

Schools have forgotten

They are marching towards marks

Encouraged by greedy souls

Called 'loving parents'

Conducting inquiries to teachers

If the child loses one mark

The laws exist on their own

They will wake us up

It is just a matter of time.

The Golden hills

Golden hills - painting - oil on canvas - Mr. S.Chellaiah

The light painted the hills

In myriad shades of gold

The green trees basked

Are they jealous in green?

You can see their smiles

You can feel their joy

You can sense the warmth

Lessons to be learnt

By the learned mortals.

Nature peeped in

The wind wanted to see the city

The water wanted to touch concrete

The  clouds wanted to become dark

The sky wanted to be hidden

The silence wanted to be heard

The sound drank the silence

The venom spilled from nature

Venom is also quality medicine

Earth knew when to smile

The silent power of nature - Painting - oil on canvas -

Mr.S. Chellaiah

Earth knew when to scream

We only watched the television

With backed up batteries
